After the kiss, I started saving for a ring you never chose
planning for our anniversary
not knowing if we could make it to that day
I called my parents to meet you by the next date
because if kissing is this good
what can a kiss do to me from lips
below the waist
I swore,
I felt a moment of paralysis
and regaining myself
through metamorphosis
I was looking for redemption
while I had this blank look,
followed by eyes still closed and lips
still at pucker
I reach down like I was pulling my pants up
to pull my manhood back on
A kiss
that melted me away
like chip of glacier in the arctic
during a ozone summer
I was still drawn into your smile
like north points meeting south points
on magnets
had me still gasping for air like the long
drop on a roller coaster ride
or fall without a parachute
towards a landing without a ground floor
"Kiss me" I asked
without saying it
just staring at your smeared gloss
on parted lips
wanting
hoping
that I can kiss you for the first time, again
